INVITATION: Demänovská Valley Duathlon

Come cheer us on Sunday, October 5, 2025 or line up with us and test your strength. At the Slovak duathlon, our marketer Matěj and ambassador Matúš will be racing. Who will cross the finish line first? And will either of them make it to the podium? Oh, and we’ll also have a booth with our bikes. So feel free to just stop by for a chat.
About the Duathlon
The Duathlon O cenu Demänovskej doliny follows the tradition of the Duathlon O cenu Mikulášskej chaty, which was first held back in 2015. It’s a family-friendly, welcoming event, open to everyone. A day full of sports, reconnecting with friends, and the joy of movement. The organizers themselves describe it as already a matter of the heart:
„This duathlon has already become a matter of the heart for us – after years it returns to Demänovská Valley, bringing not only athletic performance with remarkable elevation gain, but also a family-friendly and friendly atmosphere. Competitors will face a demanding bike ride up to Hotel Björnson, followed by a run through Brhliská, across the Poľana saddle and along the Low Tatras ridge up to Chopok. At the summit, they’ll be rewarded with views that will surely recharge their energy and remind them that sports in such nature is a true experience. Every sports enthusiast is welcome.“
A course not for everyone
The race is unique not only for its friendly vibe, but especially for its challenging course. The cycling section covers 10 km with 500 m elevation gain. The following run – or rather climb – takes place on an 8.5 km course with 880 m elevation gain. For many competitors and spectators, the finish line is a highlight in itself. It’s at Chopok, the third highest peak of the Low Tatras.
Matěj or Matúš?

Also lining up at the start are our sales rep and ambassador Matúš Štrba and marketer Matěj Urbaczka. Matúš favors cycling, while Matěj leans toward running. The odds are pretty even. Who will come out on top? We’re curious ourselves. Come and watch their friendly duel. Or join in yourself. The race is open to anyone who loves movement.
Kids will race too
The organizers have also prepared a lighter version for young racers. It won’t be nearly as tough as the adult version, but it’ll be a challenge nonetheless. The cycling part is a 4 km course with 200 m elevation gain. The running section is a loop where young duathletes will cover 3.5 km with 150 m elevation gain. So nothing stands in the way of the whole family taking part :)
Pells booth

At the Duathlon O cenu Demänovskej doliny we’ll also have a Pells booth, where you can check out our latest bikes and e-bikes, including the successful gravel bike Raw or the Thorr Bosch 1 AT – the winner of iDnes magazine’s independent e-bike test. So come by, we’re looking forward to seeing you.
