Locator KNOG Scout Alarm & Locator
Description
The future of bicycle security is here!
KNOG Scout is a lightweight and low-profile locator and alarm for bicycles, designed to seamlessly integrate into Apple’s FindMy product network, allowing you to track your bike’s location even when it’s not in motion. The attachment is discreet and secure under any bottle cage using the supplied security screws. The device charges via USB-C and, with normal use, lasts approximately 6 months on a single charge. Cyclists can activate/deactivate the motion-sensitive alarm, locate the device, and check battery status via the Knog app.
HOW THE KNOG SCOUT WORKS
The Scout locator and alarm works via Bluetooth connection with an Apple smartphone. Thanks to the connected network of iPhones using Bluetooth, a bike with an attached Scout can always be located whenever an Apple iPhone or iPad is nearby. There are no additional monthly fees. After purchase, simply charge the device and it’s ready to use. An Android version is planned for the next season.
INSTALLATION AND SECURITY
With the Scout device, you can choose between visible and discreet security. If you want to advertise that your bike is equipped with a Scout, simply use the supplied neon yellow silicone cover. For more discreet security, attach the Scout to your bike using the bottle cage mounts with the tamper-resistant security screws, without the cover.
INSTALLATION WITH BOTTLE CAGE
The extremely low profile and compact design of the Scout system allow it to be elegantly screwed in and hidden under the bottle cage. This is a great way to keep the Scout hidden for even greater discretion.
ACTIVATION AND CHARGING
Turning the Scout alarm on or off is simple and can be done in two ways: using the button on the side of the device when the iPhone is in close proximity (<1.5 m), or via the Knog app when the device is within Bluetooth range. When the Scout’s battery needs charging, there’s no need to remove the device from the bike; it can be easily recharged using a USB-C cable through the Scout’s charging port located under a waterproof silicone cap. Charging time is about 3 hours.
LED INDICATORS AND WATER RESISTANCE
Scout is equipped with dual-function LED indicators that show at a glance whether the Scout is active. The same LEDs also display the battery charge status. Scout has an IP66 water resistance rating, which means it can be left in the rain, used in the rain, and withstand washing with a water jet without affecting its functionality.
Up to 10 Scouts or similar devices can be connected in the app.
